Nayely
Nayely is a student at Columbia University School of Social Work studying International Social Welfare. Originally from southern California, Nayely came to ZPIL as an intern because of her interest in children’s issues, specifically in developing nations, and to gain experience working with Non-Government Organizations (NGO). Her work at the center includes researching comparative approaches to the roles of social workers, such as child protection, the juvenile justice system, public assistance, and child support. She also teaches English to children aged 3-6 years at ZPIL as well as at (NAME the school), a training school legally represented by Mr. Tong.
“Originally, I came to Zhicheng for my own personal development not knowing what to anticipate. I am leaving with an immense amount of knowledge and growth in China’s (or Chinese) Children’s Issues. 董玮祺 Dong Weiqi

Liz
Liz is a Harvard Law student originally from Berkeley, California. She attended UCLA for her undergraduate degree, where she studied World Literature and Political Science while picking up Japanese in her spare time. She heard about the Zhicheng internship through a friend who also applied, and after researching the organization online and reading the positive reviews in the Harvard Law internship database, decided it was a great chance to get experience working with NGOs abroad and learn more about a fascinating and dynamic world economy. Her work focuses on research related to workers rights, employment contracts and workplace compensation. She is committed to using the law to establish and support social systems that benefit and protect otherwise vulnerable populations, and has greatly enjoyed learning about the dynamic legal environment in China from the fantastic lawyers at Zhicheng Public Interest Law Center, all of whom have been warm and willing to answer any questions and share their experiences.

Jie
Jie is a student at Harvard Law School. She is originally from Chengdu, China, and studied biology before going to law school. She decided to work at ZPIL as a summer intern because she wanted to learn Chinese laws and understand the Chinsese legal system. Her research focuses on child welfare and protection in the United States and Australia, aiming at providing constructive suggestions to China’s child welfare legislation.

James
James is a recent graduate of the University of California, Irvine,where he received a B.A. in sociology and minored in philosophy. He is currently applying to law schools in the US, and came to Zhicheng as an intern after being inspired by the positive changes they have been able to effect in the protection of migrant workers and other vulnerable groups. Currently, his research focuses on environmental law and environmental justice, in addition to the strengths and eaknesses of US environmental agencies.
"During my experience here I have not only been introduced to legal work and research, but have gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of operating as an NGO in China. Working in an environment with such generous people – who are genuinely passionate about improving their society – has also strengthened my desire to work in this field. Alexz
Alexz is a William and Mary Law School student originally from Flint, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor where she received a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Asian Languages and Cultures (specifically studying Chinese and Japanese). Alexz came to ZPIL because she has an interest in labor and employment law, work that revolves around the youth, public interest law, and the Chinese language—and was happy to know that she could find it all in one place. She is currently researching juvenile justice systems with a focus on pre-trial detention.

Morgan
Morgan is a Harvard Law School student originally from Beijing. She heard about the internship through Xing Yan, another Harvard student who had interned with Zhicheng in 2011. Her research focuses on the sociological reasons behind immigrant crime and the legal responses to immigrant crime. Morgan is also working on the legal approach to cases of infanticide in the US.

Lupeng
Lupeng is a rising 2L at Harvard Law School. She is from Nanjing, China and majored in Classics at Grinnell College in Iowa. She is interested in the development of ZPIL as a domestic NGO and migrant workers’ rights issues in China. Her research at Zhicheng focuses on the current relationship between NGOs and the UN and how to strengthen the ties between them. Additionally, she attends interviews with clients and their families and observes attorneys handling cases.

孕期被辞退 援助律师帮助依法维权（一）
马某于2009年5月12日招聘进某食品有限公司北京办事处做销售工作，2010年6月与北京某食品有限公司签订了劳动合同，但马某本人手中并没有劳动合同。马某负责朝阳区大洋路市场、朝阳弘善市场、苹乐园市场和东郊市场中有公司货架的客户的库存、具体销量、维护商品、打扫清理货架、摆货等工作，每天骑公司发的电动车到各市场工作。每天早晨8:30上班，下午6:00至7:00下班，每周工作6天。2011年6月7日查出怀孕1个月，为了不影响工作，马某仍旧坚持工作。但是，2011年10月中旬，因孕期突然出血，经医院检查，被告知与骑电动车有关系，让卧床休息两周，后又被查出子宫肌瘤，孩子偏小，马某2011年怀孕时已经32岁，结婚十年后要的第一个孩子，医生建议马某一直休息，注意调养。马某拿医院开的休假条请了三次假，都得到了北京办事处经理的书面批准。
当马某第四次请假时，北京办事处经理也批准了，然而，就当马某通过快递邮寄第五次假条时，却被告知总公司不同意第四次请假，公司以旷工为由单方解除了与马某的劳动合同。马某很不理解，为什么马某刚交完病假条就把马某辞退了，这也太不讲天理和公道了。2012年3月10日马某顺利产下一子。
目前，通过北京致诚农民工中心专职律师于慧与马某多次电话沟通和快递案件材料，2012年7月13日已经将仲裁申请递交给了丰台区劳动争议仲裁委员会。我们仲裁要求继续履行劳动合同以及支付生育医疗费、生育津贴、病假工资等合计3万多元。

2012年7月16日，美国惠蒂尔大学法学院学生代表团来致诚公益访问。中心主任佟丽华、青少年中心陈苏律师，农民工中心王芳律师、项目助理李秀红参与了接待工作。中心律师先就致诚公益在青少年、农民工、农村法治、刑事法律援助及环境保护相关的工作进行了介绍，律师及学生们针对青少年及劳动维权方面的法律及实践等问题进行交流与探讨。
On July 16, 2012, a group of students from Whittier Law School visited Zhicheng Public Interest Law (ZPIL). Mr. Tong Lihua, the director of ZPIL, Chen Su, a lawyer that specializes in children’s rights protection, Wang Fang, a lawyer that specializes in migrant workers rights protection, and Li Xiuhong, program assistant, hosted the students on behalf of Zhicheng. Lawyers from ZPIL first provided a general introduction of the work of ZPIL in the fields of children, migrant workers, farmers in rural areas, criminal legal aid and environmental protection. The lawyers and the students had a spirited discussion about the law and practice in the protection of children’s rights and the protection of labor rights.

全国律协开展党日活动 邀请佟丽华律师讲党课
2012年7月13日下午，全国律协邀请新当选的党的十八大代表、北京市致诚律师事务所主任佟丽华律师为全国律协全体工作人员讲党课。

北京市优秀法制校长课件评选结果即将揭晓
2012年7月13日上午，首都综治委预防青少年违法犯罪专项组办公室、北京市未成年人保护委员会办公室、北京团市委组织召开北京市优秀法制校长课件评审会，会议由团市委权益部部长张洁主持，邀请教育部政策法规司原副司长张文、北京市司法局法宣处副处长吕剑峰、北京市教委基础教育一处副处级调研员沈柳莺、北京市第二中级人民法院未成年人审判庭副庭长唐季怡、北京市海淀区检察院少年检察处副处长赵轶、北京青少年法律援助与研究中心副主任张雪梅六位专家组成评审组，对征集的110篇法制校长讲课稿件进行评选，评选结果近期揭晓。

工伤赔偿快速和解 当事人满意而归
张某与单位老板经过三天的深入交谈，考虑到维权成本、经济困难现状、后续工作安置以及单位之前积极安排工伤医疗等多种因素，张某与爱人商量后，最终签订了和解协议，单位在一次性支付6万元赔偿款的前提下，在张某伤情稳定后，安排张某仍旧在单位从事适合的工作。张某对此表示满意，不但解决了眼前的燃眉之急，而且对以后的工作和生活也有个后续保障和希望。
张某等人非常感谢我们从中提供的法律咨询和援助工作，我们也表示会继续为他们提供免费的法律咨询和援助。他们买了回老家的火车票，临别，我们还赠送了新出版的《谁动了他们的权利？——时福茂办理农民工案件专辑（四）》和《谁动了他们的权利？——中国农民工维权案例精析（五）》书籍给张某、当地妇女联合会副会长以及转交当地法律援助中心主任，希望我们保持沟通，在维护弱势群体合法权益方面有新的合作。

陈凯军，男1971年1月4日出生，毕业于郑州大学，本科学历。1995年开始从事律师工作。自2010年开始在许昌市农民工法律援助工作站做专职法律援助律师。
两年来，共接受接待法律咨询案件337次，包括电话咨询、面谈等方式，通过法律咨询的方式帮助和指导了农民工依法维权。共办结农民工法律援助案件63起,共帮100多名农民工维权。涉案金额达到273万余元。
Chen Kaijun, born on January 4, 1971, graduated from Zhengzhou University with a bachelor’s degree. He began working as a lawyer in 1995. Since 2010 he has worked at Xuchang Migrant Workers’ Legal Aid Workstation as a full-time legal aid lawyer.
In the past two years he has given a total of 337 instances of legal advice, including telephone counseling, interviews, etc., guiding migrant workers through the legal system. He has handled 63 legal aid cases and helped more than 100 migrant workers protect their legal rights. The amount of money involved was RMB 273 million.

曹辉， 1969年1月生，北京理工大学工学学士，南开大学法律硕士(在读)，电子技术工程师、现为天津华盛理法律援助工作站专职公益律师。曾在解放军总装备部某部服役10余年，2003年中校副团转业。曹辉律师具有丰富的社会经验和多行业从业经历，办理了大量刑事、民事、商事、劳动案件。现为“全国职业院校技能大赛高职组”法律顾问。2011年被天津市河北区司法局法律援助中心评为法律援助先进个人。
Cao Hui, born in January 1969, Bachelor’s from Beijing Institute of Technology, and is currently obtaining his LLM at Nankai University, an electronic technical engineer, now is a full-time public interest lawyer Tianjin Huachengli Legal Aid Station. He has served for more than 10 years in the PLA General Armament Department, and in 2003 was Deputy Lieutenant Colonel of the Demobilized group. Mr. Cao Hui has rich experience in society and many industries, and has dealt with a large amount of criminal, civil, commercial, and labor case. Now he is legal adviser for the National Vocational Students Skills Competition. In 2011 by he was deemed by the Tianjin Hebei District Judicial Bureau Legal Aid Center as a first-rate legal aid lawyer.

Hu Shaoyuan graduated from the Law School of Northern University of Nationalities in July 2009 and started legal practice in 2010. He provides legal aid for migrant workers and disadvantaged groups in the urban areas. Hu Zhanfeng, born on January 27, 1979, has a bachelor’s degree. He joined the Hebei Jun He Xin Law Firm in March 2007 and has been a full-time lawyer at the Workstation since January 2008. He has handled about 160 migrant workers legal aid cases and successfully recovered unpaid wages and work-related injury compensation totaling RMB 1.5 million for migrant workers.

Li Dong has been a public interest lawyer at Shandong Fa Jie Law Firm Workstation for Protecting Migrant Workers’ Legal Rights since June 2010. 寇伟刚，男，汉族，1974年4月4日出生，毕业于中国广播电视大学，本科学历。自2009年开始从事律师工作。自2010年开始在许昌市农民工法律援助工作站做专职法律援助律师。
两年来，共接受接待法律咨询案件370余次，包括电话咨询、面谈等方式，通过法律咨询的方式帮助和指导了农民工依法维权。共办结农民工法律援助案件80多起,共帮150余名农民工维权。涉案金额达到357万余元。
Kou Weigang, born on April 4, 1974, graduated from the China Radio and Television University with a bachelor’s degree. He has worked as a lawyer since 2009. Since 2010 he has worked at Xuchang Migrant Workers’ Legal Aid Workstation as a full-time legal aid lawyer.
In the past two years, he has given legal advice in more than 370 instances, including telephone consultation, interviews and other help by way of legal advice and guidance to migrant workers according to activist principles. He has completed more than 80 legal aid cases and helped more than 150 migrant workers protect their legal rights. The amount of money involved was RMB 357 million.

李强， 1968年12月出生，山东大学法律系毕业，2004年11月在山东舜天律师事务所做专职律师，2007年4月在山东省农民工维权工作站从事专职公益律师，2010年1月起，担任山东省农民工维权工作站执行主任。
执业以来，李强律师共计办理各类案件400余起，其中法律援助案件300余件;为宣传法律维权知识，李强律师定期到农民工比较集中的地方，现场进行维权知识培训20余次;为推动公益法的发展，李强律师到驻济各高校、中学，进行公益法知识培训10余次;为呼吁社会对弱势群体的重视，李强律师与各电视台、报刊等媒体积极合作，接受各种媒体采访计100余次;为加深对农民工问题的研究，李强律师对办理的案件进行总结、论证，发表《农民工维权之思考》、《如何办理农民工群体性案件》等多篇业务论文，主持并参与编写《农民工维权100问》，《妇女维权100问》等书籍。

Li Qiang graduated from Shandong University Law School. He became a full time lawyer at Shandong Shun Tian Law Firm in November 2004 and joined the Workstation as a full time public interest lawyer in April 2007. In January 2010, he became the executive director of the Workstation.
Li Qiang has handled more than 400 cases, including more than 300 legal aid cases. In order to disseminate knowledge of legal rights, he regularly went to migrant workers’ gathering places and held more than 20 training sessions on protecting legal rights. To promote the development of public interest law, he went to universities and high schools and gave more than 10 lectures on public interest law. He also cooperated with the media and had more than 100 interviews to advocate for the rights of disadvantaged groups. In order to deeply study migrant worker issues, Li Qiang summarized and reflected on cases he handled, and published articles such as “Thoughts on Protecting Migrant Workers’ Rights” and “How to Handle Cases Involving Migrant Worker Groups”, and books such as “100 Questions about Protecting Migrant Workers’ Rights” and “100 Questions about Protecting Women’s Rights.”
Li Qiang’s work has been highly praised by his clients and the public. He has received more than 60 pennants and “thank you” letters. In February 2011, he was named “Shandong Outstanding Lawyer in Protecting Workers’ Rights” by Shandong Labor Union, Shandong Department of Justice, and Shandong Lawyers Association. 李群， 1982年1月18日生，本科，毕业于宁夏大学。2007年9月进入宁夏银川市农民工维权工作站，2010年取得律师执业资格证，现为工作站负责人。自2008年10月至2011年6月，李群律师共接待来访咨询一千余件，免费代书一百余件，共办理涉及农民工及其他经济困难人员的各类援助案件83件，涉及人数85人，通过诉讼、仲裁调解等方式为农民工挽回经济损失1429908.33元，最大限度地维护了受援人的合法权益，她的工作得到了当事人的一致肯定。除办理案件外，为了给农民工宣传法律知识，李群律师组织工作站的其他律师一起深入建筑工地、劳务市场、街道社区进行义务法律宣传和咨询二十余次，散发宣传材料数万份;为了提高农民工的法律意识，她主动与银川市流动人口就业服务中心联系，联合举办多场农民工普法培训讲座，通过普法培训讲座，大大提高了农民工的法律维权意识，也深受农民工的欢迎。
Li Qun graduated from Ningxia University. She joined the Workstation in September 2007 and obtained the lawyer’s license in 2010. She is currently in charge of the Workstation. Between October 2008 and June 2011, Li Qun received more than 1000 consultation visits, provided free document drafting for more than 100 clients, and handled 83 legal aid cases involving 85 migrant workers and other people with economic difficulties. She helped migrant workers to collect RMB 1429908.33 damages through litigation, arbitration, and mediation. She protected clients’ legal rights, and her work was highly praised. In addition to dealing with cases, Li Qun also organized other lawyers at the Workstation to go to construction sites, labor markets, and street communities to provide free legal education and consultation to migrant workers. They sent out more than ten thousand copies of legal education materials. In order to promote migrant workers’ awareness of legal rights, she contacted Yinchuan Employment Service Center for Migrant Population and organized legal education lectures for migrant workers. These lectures increased migrant workers’ awareness of their rights and were well received by the migrant workers.

Li Wenhong graduated from Northwest University of Politics and Law. From August 2006 to December 2009, she was a full time lawyer at Shanxi Cheng Cheng Law Firm. Since January 2010, she has been a full time lawyer at the Migrant Workers’ Legal Aid Workstation. She is also a counselor of Shanxi Architecture Industry Association, counselor of Shanxi Real Estate Association, and specially invited guest at several radio and TV programs. She specializes in handling tort cases, labor disputes, work-related injury cases, and family cases.
