1999年4月，北京市致诚律师事务所推动成立了“丰台区青少年法律援助工作站”，同年8月，该所与中国青少年犯罪研究会共同设立了“中国青少年犯罪研究会青少年法律援助与研究中心”。
In April 1999, the Fengtai Children’s Legal Aid Station was established with the efforts of the Beijing Zhicheng Law Firm (“Zhicheng”). In August of the same year, the Juvenile Legal Aid and Research Center (the “Center”) was set up by joint efforts of Zhicheng together with the China Association for Research on Juvenile Deliquency.
2003年5月，该中心正式登记注册为“北京青少年法律援助与研究中心”，以下简称“青少年中心”，“青少年中心”是全国第一个专门从事未成年人法律援助与研究的具有独立法人资格的民间组织。
In May 2003, the Center registered as an independent legal entity – the Beijing Children’s Legal Aid and Research Center (the “Children’s Center”). The Children’s Center is the first independent legal non-profit organization in China that provides legal aid services to children and focuses on children’s rights research.
