2012年6月4日，新京报发表题为“流动儿童成家暴重灾区”的文章，佟丽华主任对此表示儿童受家暴后，通常不会主动报案，因此司法机关难察觉，难介入，难干预，除非儿童因家暴造成重伤或者致死，侵害儿童才会被追究刑事责任，因此目前没有预防悲剧的应有机制。
On June 4th 2012, The Beijing News carried an article titled “migrant children are much more easily hurt by domestic violence.” Mr. Tong Lihua commented on that when children are hurt by domestic violence, they often don’t report it to the police voluntarily – making it hard for judicial departments to detect, get involved, and intervene. Currently in China’s context, if someone causes serious injury or death to children because of domestic violence, they will be subjected to penal punishment – but outside of that, there are few available mechanisms to prevent the tragedies from occurring.
